Round bar diameter:
General range: 1.0 mm to 300 mm.
Subdivisions:
Extruded bar stock: Φ6–Φ50 mm, length up to 1000 mm.
Cast/forged bar stock: Φ51–Φ220 mm, length 500 mm.
Special customization: Non-standard sizes can be produced, such as 260 mm diameter or larger.
Length:
The factory standard length is 12 feet (about 3.66 meters), but it can be customized to 6 meters or longer according to demand.

ASTM standards:
ASTM B441: Standardizes the chemical composition and mechanical properties of beryllium copper alloys, and C17510 complies with this standard.
ASTM B49: Applicable to the production process of oxygen-free copper rods
Industry standards:
RWMA Class 3: Recommended for welding dies for high-resistance materials, such as spot welding and seam welding of stainless steel.
SAE J461/J463: Involves material processing and application specifications.
European standards:
DIN 2.0850 (CW110C): corresponds to the European grade of beryllium copper alloy.

Chemical composition (mass fraction %)
Copper (Cu): Balance, usually accounting for more than 97%.
Berryllium (Be): Most literature ranges from 0.2% to 0.6%
Nickel (Ni): There are two common ranges, one is 1.4% to 2.2%, and the other is 2.2% to 2.8%
Other elements: May contain trace amounts of cobalt (Co, 0.3% to 2.5%), iron (Fe, ≤0.15%), silicon (Si, ≤0.2%), aluminum (Al, ≤0.15%), etc.
Mechanical properties
The properties are significantly affected by the heat treatment state. The main data are as follows:
Tensile strength
After precipitation heat treatment: 690-895 MPa, some tests show 883 MPa (room temperature).
After hard treatment: 760-965 MPa, up to 130 ksi (about 896 MPa).
Yield strength (0.2% offset)
After precipitation heat treatment: 550-690 MPa, measured value 758 MPa (room temperature).
After hard treatment: 650-870 MPa, up to 752 MPa.
Elongation
Generally 10%-25%, the specific value varies with the treatment state, such as 16% in precipitation state.
Hardness
HRB: 92-102, hard state can reach HRB 95-102.
HV: Rockwell hardness HRB ≥ 90°HV.
Physical properties
Density: 8.75-8.83 g/cm³.
Electrical conductivity: 45%-60% IACS
Thermal conductivity: 172-240 W/(m·K).
Elastic modulus: 133-138 GPa.
Coefficient of thermal expansion: 18×10⁻⁶/°C (20-200°C).
C17510 copper rod production process and product advantages:
1. Production process
Smelting and continuous casting
Raw materials (such as scrap copper, electrolytic copper, zinc ingots, etc.) are heated to 1100℃ in an industrial frequency furnace for melting. After being removed by slag remover, the copper liquid enters the continuous casting link for cooling and forming. This process ensures uniform material composition and low impurity content.
Extrusion and stretching
The copper rods after continuous casting are further processed by hot extrusion process to improve density and surface finish. Then drawing treatment is carried out to adjust dimensional accuracy and mechanical properties to meet high strength requirements.
Heat treatment
Solution treatment (softening material) and aging hardening (precipitation strengthening) processes are used to improve the hardness, elasticity and fatigue resistance of the alloy by controlling temperature and time.
Surface treatment and quality inspection
The finished product undergoes surface treatment such as polishing and straightening, and passes strict quality inspection processes such as hardness testing and flaw detector testing to ensure that there are no defects such as sand holes and pores.
2. Product Advantages
Excellent mechanical properties
High strength and hardness: After heat treatment, the tensile strength can reach 690-895 MPa, and the Rockwell hardness can reach HRC 38 or above, which is equivalent to tool steel and is suitable for heavy-duty parts.
High elasticity and fatigue resistance: The elastic modulus reaches 20×10⁶ psi, which is resistant to repeated deformation and suitable for dynamic applications such as springs and electrodes.
Excellent physical properties
Electrical conductivity/thermal conductivity: The electrical conductivity is 20-45% IACS, and the thermal conductivity is 140 Btu/(ft·hr·°F). It takes into account both electrical performance and heat dissipation requirements, and is suitable for scenarios such as relays and welding electrodes.
Non-magnetic and non-sparking: Collision does not produce sparks and is non-magnetic, which is suitable for hazardous environments such as mines and oil wells.
Environmental corrosion resistance
It has strong corrosion resistance to seawater, atmosphere and chemical media (such as sulfuric acid), especially suitable for marine engineering and chemical equipment.
Processing adaptability
Easy to form: complex shapes can be processed by stamping, forging, turning and other processes, and customized sizes are supported (such as diameter Φ1-260 mm, thickness 0.06-50 mm).
Weldable and re-aging: good welding performance, and the performance can be adjusted by annealing and re-aging to meet the needs of different working conditions.
Wide application areas
Including high-end fields such as aerospace (structural parts, thermal conductive components), automobiles (welding molds, elastic elements), electronics (connectors, switch contacts) and energy (submarine cables, welding equipment).
