The copper rod is mainly a round solid rod with a wide range of diameters:
Regular size: 3.0mm to 200mm, common specifications include 10mm, 12mm, 15mm, 20mm, 25mm, 30mm, 40mm, etc., supporting zero-cut processing.
Special size: Non-standard large size up to 150mm diameter can be provided
Tolerance control: For example, the tolerance of 15mm diameter is ±0.2mm, and the specific tolerance is adjusted according to production standards and customer requirements.
International standards
C18150 copper rods comply with the following major international standards:
American standards: UNS C18150, SAE J461/J463 (material specifications), RWMA Class 2 (Resistance Welding Materials Association Standard).
European standards: DIN 17666 2.1293, EN CW106C.
International standards: ISO 5182-1991 (Resistance Welding Electrode Materials).
ASTM specifications: Covers requirements such as dimensional tolerances and mechanical properties, such as ASTM B249 general requirements for wrought copper alloy bars.
C18150 is based on copper, and its main alloy components are chromium (Cr) and zirconium (Zr). The specific ranges are as follows:
Copper (Cu): ≥99.70% (remainder)
Chromium (Cr): 0.50–1.50%
Zirconium (Zr): 0.05–0.25%
Other elements: The total amount of impurities such as iron (Fe), silicon (Si), phosphorus (P) does not exceed 0.50%.
Mechanical properties vary significantly depending on the heat treatment state (such as annealing, cold working, aging):

Production process
Vacuum casting and water seal extrusion technology
The vacuum casting process is used to reduce impurities and oxidation, and the extrusion blanking and solution treatment are combined with the water seal extrusion technology. The solution effect is optimized by controlling the extrusion temperature, speed and water temperature and other parameters, which significantly improves the yield rate and achieves energy saving and environmental protection. This process avoids the tediousness of traditional secondary heating and quenching, and improves production efficiency.
Solution-aging treatment
Material properties are strengthened through the "solution-aging" effect: the alloy elements are evenly distributed in the solution stage, and then the strengthening phase is precipitated by aging treatment, further improving the hardness, conductivity and thermal stability.
For example, the solution temperature is controlled at 900-1000℃, and the aging temperature is 400-450℃.
Cold working and continuous extrusion
Cold working (such as cold drawing, cold rolling) and continuous extrusion processes can refine the grains and improve the mechanical properties. Studies have shown that when the diameter is reduced to 8mm after extrusion, the material hardness, tensile strength (523MPa) and wear resistance are optimal.
Surface treatment and processing control
After processing, strong corrosion, weak corrosion, water washing and passivation treatment are required to enhance corrosion resistance, and high-temperature welding should be avoided to prevent performance loss.

Excellent physical properties
High electrical conductivity and thermal conductivity: electrical conductivity of 80–85% IACS, thermal conductivity of 320W/m·K, suitable for scenarios with high current and high heat dissipation requirements (such as resistance welding electrodes, conductive parts).
High hardness and strength: hardness HRB 75–83, tensile strength 450–550MPa, excellent wear resistance, can withstand high-load working conditions.
High temperature resistance and softening resistance
The softening temperature exceeds 500℃, and the performance can still be maintained stable in high temperature environment, which is better than pure copper (200℃) and silver-containing copper (350℃).
Good processing and welding performance
Supports conventional machining, cold heading, bending and other processes, with good welding performance (gas shielded welding is recommended), but oxyacetylene welding should be avoided.
Corrosion resistance and diverse applications
Resistant to atmospheric and seawater corrosion, excellent anti-oxidation performance, suitable for automotive welding electrodes, molds, high-voltage switch contacts, high-speed rail motor end rings and other fields. Compared with C18200, it has stronger deformation resistance and less adhesion.

Meets ASTM B196, RWMA Class 2, ISO5182 and other standards to ensure global compatibility.
