1. Production process
Smelting and casting
Electrolytic copper, zinc, nickel, lead, etc. are used as the main raw materials and melted into alloy liquid through an industrial frequency induction furnace. The composition ratio needs to be accurately controlled during the smelting process (copper + silver 59%-66.5%, lead 0.8%-1.4%, nickel + cobalt 11%-13%, zinc balance), and charcoal may be added to cover to isolate oxygen and reduce oxidized impurities.
Forming
Stretching and extrusion: The copper rod is plastically deformed by a large drawing machine or a continuous extruder, and the cross-sectional size is compressed by a die to form a preliminary wire. Cold rolling and extrusion processes can eliminate surface defects and improve mechanical strength and conductivity (conductivity ≥100% IACS).
Wire drawing: Polycrystalline dies and lubricating fluids are used for multiple wire drawing to ensure that the wire surface is smooth and the dimensional accuracy is high (change ≤0.01mm).
Heat treatment
Annealing: The wire is heated in an annealing furnace to eliminate internal stress and improve softness and conductivity. Annealing temperature and time need to be strictly controlled, and the cooling method affects the final performance.
Hardening treatment: Increase the hardness of the wire by rolling or cold working (yield strength can reach 300MPa), which is suitable for high-strength scenarios such as transformer electromagnetic wire.
Surface treatment and post-processing
Tin plating (enhanced weldability), chrome/nickel plating (improved corrosion resistance), coating (such as epoxy resin) or mechanical polishing can be performed to meet different application requirements. For precision parts (such as electronic pins), paper wrapping, transposition and other processes are also required to optimize insulation and structural stability.

High strength: tensile strength can reach 350MPa, yield strength 160MPa, Brinell hardness 80HB, suitable for high pressure and heavy load scenarios (such as ship gears, chemical pipe fittings).
Low temperature stability: high mechanical properties are still maintained below -180°C, and the strength does not decrease but increases at low temperatures, which is suitable for polar or aerospace equipment.
Excellent processing performance
Easy to cut and form: Lead element improves cutting performance, suitable for precision processing (such as eyeglass frames, electronic pins); supports cold forging, hot forging and complex wire drawing processes.
Good ductility: The elongation is improved after annealing, suitable for secondary processing such as winding and bending.
Corrosion resistance and durability
The addition of nickel and zinc enhances the ability to resist atmospheric and seawater corrosion, especially suitable for marine engineering and chemical equipment.
Surface plating or coating can further extend the service life, such as chrome plating for building hardware.
Multifunctional application
Widely used in building decoration (door handles, locks), power equipment (transformer wire), ship parts, electronic accessories (pins, connectors) and daily necessities (glasses, jewelry) and other fields.
