C17500 copper tube is a beryllium cobalt copper alloy, which belongs to high-performance beryllium bronze material. Detailed size range

Chinese standard: According to the Chinese standard GB/T 18033-2000, the outer diameter range of copper tubes is DN15~200mm (approximately corresponding to outer diameter 15~200mm), but the actual maximum outer diameter is usually limited to 30mm.

International standard:

American standard (ASTM B88): The maximum outer diameter can reach 105mm, suitable for high pressure and high temperature scenes.

European standard (EN1057): The maximum outer diameter is 64mm, divided into "Y" series (general type) and "X" series (economic type).

Tensile strength: 700-1200 MPa, up to 940-1035 MPa after aging treatment.

Yield strength: 560-1050 MPa (up to 951 MPa after aging).

Hardness:

Untreated state: ≤50 HB (Brinell hardness);

After aging: 38-44 HRC (Rockwell hardness) or 92-100 HRB.

Electrical and thermal conductivity:

Electrical conductivity: 45%-65% IACS (International Annealed Copper Standard), significantly higher than ordinary copper.

Thermal conductivity: 105-208 W/(m·℃), suitable for heat dissipation scenarios.

Elongation and toughness:

Elongation: 10%-25% (may drop to 1% after cold working).

Elastic modulus: 128-138 GPa, showing high elasticity.

3. Other key features

Corrosion resistance: Excellent in fresh water, sea water and dilute acid, but prone to corrosion in humid ammonia and nitric acid environments.

Processing performance:

Good hot processing performance, can be hot extruded and hot rolled; excellent cold processing performance, suitable for stamping, bending, etc.

Machinability is 20% of ordinary materials, which can be improved after aging.

Special properties: non-magnetic, anti-adhesion, no sparks on impact, suitable for explosion-proof scenes.

C17500 copper tube production process and product advantages:


1. Production process

The production process of C17500 copper tube combines traditional copper material processing with specific heat treatment process:


Raw material smelting: Based on cathode copper, alloy elements such as beryllium (Be 0.4-0.7%) and cobalt (Co 2.4-2.7%) are added, and melted at 1200℃ through an industrial frequency furnace to form a uniform melt.


Casting and cooling: The horizontal continuous casting process is used for forming, and then water-cooled to about 50℃ to form a blank.


Rolling and drawing: The surface oxide layer is removed by milling, and then multiple plastic processes such as planetary rolling, triple drawing, and disk drawing are performed to gradually reduce the wall thickness and improve the dimensional accuracy. Scrap (S4-S5) and waste mineral oil (S5) are generated in the process.


Heat treatment:

Solution treatment: Hot processing (such as forging) is performed in the range of 700-925℃ to improve material uniformity.

Age hardening: Through quenching and tempering and subsequent aging treatment (such as tempering at 400-500℃), the strengthening phase is precipitated to increase the tensile strength to a maximum of 980MPa, while maintaining a high conductivity of 45-65%IACS.

Surface treatment and molding: Stress is eliminated through online annealing, and then the finished product is processed through rewinding, flaw detection, cleaning and other processes.

2. Product advantages

High strength and hardness:

The yield strength after aging reaches 951MPa, the tensile strength is up to 980MPa, which is more than 40% higher than ordinary copper, and the hardness (HB) reaches 230-255HV.

Excellent electrical/thermal conductivity:

The electrical conductivity is 45-65%IACS, and the thermal conductivity is 208W/(m·℃), which is suitable for heat dissipation and current carrying scenarios, such as resistance welding electrodes and electronic connectors.

Environmental resistance:

The corrosion resistance is better than that of red copper, resistant to seawater and atmospheric corrosion, non-magnetic, and does not produce sparks when impacted, which is suitable for explosion-proof environments.

Processing and process adaptability:

Excellent hot processing performance (such as forging temperature 760-925℃), cold processing can form complex parts through drawing and stamping; good welding compatibility, supporting laser welding, electron beam welding, etc.

Wide application:

Mold manufacturing: When used as an injection mold insert, the thermal conductivity is 3-4 times higher than that of steel, shortening the cooling cycle and reducing deformation.

Electronics and automobiles: Suitable for fuses, springs, switch components and lightweight automotive components.

Environmental protection and economy:

Production waste can be recycled and complies with the RoHS directive. Although the initial cost is high, it has a long life and low maintenance cost.
