Outer diameter: customized according to production process and demand, covering a wide range. The outer diameter of cast pipes can reach Φ4mm to Φ300mm, while the outer diameter of spot pipes is usually less than 200mm.
Wall thickness: The wall thickness of cast pipes is generally ≥8mm. Other types of pipes (such as seamless pipes and welded pipes) can be customized according to demand, with a flexible wall thickness range. For example, Φ300mm pipes with a wall thickness of 10mm can be provided.
Length: The length of cast pipes is usually ≤300mm, while the length of billets or customized pipes can reach 1-5 meters

C17510 copper pipes mainly follow the following ASTM standards:
ASTM B937-18: Standardizes the manufacturing requirements of C17510 copper beryllium alloy seamless pipes (UNS C17510).
ASTM B944-11(2016): Applicable to C17510 copper beryllium alloy welded heat exchangers and condenser tubes.
ASTM B441-1985 and B534-991: Covers chemical composition and property specifications for beryllium copper alloys.
Chemical composition (mass fraction %)
Copper (Cu): Balance, usually accounting for more than 97%.
Berryllium (Be): Most literature ranges from 0.2% to 0.6%
Nickel (Ni): There are two common ranges, one is 1.4% to 2.2%, and the other is 2.2% to 2.8%
Other elements: May contain trace amounts of cobalt (Co, 0.3% to 2.5%), iron (Fe, ≤0.15%), silicon (Si, ≤0.2%), aluminum (Al, ≤0.15%), etc.
Mechanical properties
The properties are significantly affected by the heat treatment state. The main data are as follows:
Tensile strength
After precipitation heat treatment: 690-895 MPa, some tests show 883 MPa (room temperature).
After hard treatment: 760-965 MPa, up to 130 ksi (about 896 MPa).
Yield strength (0.2% offset)
After precipitation heat treatment: 550-690 MPa, measured value 758 MPa (room temperature).
After hard treatment: 650-870 MPa, up to 752 MPa.
Elongation
Generally 10%-25%, the specific value varies with the treatment state, such as 16% in precipitation state.
Hardness
HRB: 92-102, hard state can reach HRB 95-102.
HV: Rockwell hardness HRB ≥ 90°HV.
Physical properties
Density: 8.75-8.83 g/cm³.
Electrical conductivity: 45%-60% IACS
Thermal conductivity: 172-240 W/(m·K).
Elastic modulus: 133-138 GPa.
Coefficient of thermal expansion: 18×10⁻⁶/°C (20-200°C).
Production process and product advantages of C17510 copper tube:
1. Production process
Material preparation
C17510 belongs to nickel-beryllium-copper alloy (Cu-Ni-Be), whose basic components include copper (97.8%), beryllium (0.2-0.6%), nickel (1.4-2.2%) and a small amount of cobalt, silicon and other elements. The raw materials are smelted in an industrial frequency furnace (about 1200℃) and horizontally cast, and then water-cooled to 50℃ for initial solid solution.
Hot working and cold working
Hot working: Hot forming processes such as rolling and forging can be carried out in the temperature range of 648-885℃, which is suitable for the initial processing of bars, plates and pipes.
Cold working: It has excellent cold working properties, including drawing, bending, stamping, etc., and is especially suitable for manufacturing thin-walled (≤0.5mm) and small-diameter (≤5mm) precision copper tubes.
Welding and forming
Recommended welding processes include gas shielded arc welding, brazing, spot welding and seam welding, while oxyacetylene welding is explicitly prohibited because it can easily cause material embrittlement.
Subsequent processes need to be combined with precision processing such as planetary rolling, triple drawing, and disk drawing, and online annealing (such as 500-600℃ aging treatment) is used to improve material strength and conductivity.
Surface treatment and testing
Milling, polishing and surface cleaning processes are used to ensure the smoothness and corrosion resistance of the copper tube, and the quality of the finished product is guaranteed through processes such as rewinding and flaw detection.
2. Product advantages
High strength and high hardness
The tensile strength can reach 760-965 MPa and the hardness can reach HRC 38-44, which is better than ordinary copper alloys and is suitable for harsh working conditions such as high-pressure CO₂ refrigerants.
After precipitation heat treatment, the yield strength is increased to 1035 MPa, and the elongation remains above 1%, which meets the structural stability under the trend of thin-walling.
Excellent electrical and thermal conductivity
The electrical conductivity can reach 45-60% IACS (International Annealed Copper Standard), and the thermal conductivity is 105 W/(m·K), which is 40-60% higher than ordinary copper, suitable for high current transmission and efficient heat dissipation scenarios.
Corrosion and wear resistance
It remains stable in seawater, acidic environment and high temperature, with better corrosion resistance than chrome zirconium copper, and outstanding wear resistance, suitable for high-frequency friction parts such as molds and electrodes.
Superior processing performance
The cold processing rating is "excellent", which can easily realize small diameter (such as less than 5mm) and complex tooth processing, reducing the cost of heat exchangers by about 20%.
Environmental protection and energy saving
The small diameter design reduces the refrigerant filling amount, which meets environmental protection requirements; the material can be recycled and reused, and the waste gas and waste liquid in the production process are treated and reused.
Applicability to special scenarios
It is non-magnetic and does not produce sparks when impacted, suitable for explosion-proof tools, aerospace and precision electronics.
