C18150 is based on copper, and its main alloy components are chromium (Cr) and zirconium (Zr). The specific ranges are as follows:

Other elements: The total amount of impurities such as iron (Fe), silicon (Si), phosphorus (P) does not exceed 0.50%.

Production process and product advantages of C18150 copper tube:
1. Production process
Alloy smelting and forming
C18150 adopts vacuum casting technology to ensure the uniformity of alloy composition and reduce the influence of impurities on conductivity. The new process introduces water seal extrusion technology, combines extrusion blanking with solid solution treatment, and optimizes the solid solution effect by precisely controlling the extrusion temperature (about 900-950℃), speed and cooling parameters, avoiding the energy loss of traditional secondary heating and quenching.
Heat treatment process
After solid solution treatment, the alloy is aged (temperature about 450-500℃), and the strengthening phases of Cr and Zr are precipitated, which significantly improves the hardness and strength. The finished product is usually supplied directly in a fully aged + cold drawn state, without the need for secondary heat treatment by the user.
Cold processing technology
Supports cold heading, bending, stamping and other forming processes, with low work hardening rate, suitable for precision parts manufacturing. For example, electrode pipe fittings can be directly formed by cold heading to reduce the amount of subsequent machining.
2. Product Advantages
Excellent high-temperature performance
The softening temperature exceeds 500°C, far exceeding pure copper (200°C) and silver-containing copper (350°C). It has outstanding anti-deformation ability in high-temperature scenarios such as welding electrodes, and its service life is more than 30% longer than C18200.
Excellent electrical and thermal conductivity
The electrical conductivity reaches 80% IACS (annealed state), and the thermal conductivity is 320 W/(m·K). It has both efficient heat dissipation and low energy consumption characteristics, and is suitable for high-current welding electrodes and hot runner molds. For example, in the regenerative cooling system of rocket engines, its thermal conductivity can improve the heat absorption efficiency of fuel.
Outstanding mechanical properties
Tensile strength ≥550 MPa (H state), hardness ≥78 HRB, wear resistance is better than ordinary copper alloys, and it is suitable for high-mechanical load scenarios such as high-voltage switch contacts
. The upper limit of the strength of C18150 strip of Boway Alloy is 700 MPa (SH state), while maintaining 80% IACS conductivity, which is close to the ideal lead frame material standard.
Wide processing adaptability
Welding: supports TIG, MIG, and resistance welding, but oxyacetylene welding and submerged arc welding are not recommended.
Forming: Excellent cold processing performance, no annealing is required after cold heading, suitable for precision electrode manufacturing.
Surface treatment: General electroplating performance, but complex structures such as engine nozzles with integrated cooling channels can be directly manufactured by laser sintering (DMLS).
Wide industry application
Mainly covers three major areas:
Welding industry: spot welding/seam welding electrodes, welding wheels (galvanized steel plate welding adhesion is reduced by 50%).
Electronic and electrical: circuit breaker contacts, commutator plates (balance of conductivity and strength).
