Diameter/side length range:

Round bars: 1.5-500 mm diameter (mentioned, suppliers can provide very fine to coarse specifications).

Square bars: Common sizes include 0.75 inches (19.05 mm), 1 inch (25.4 mm), 2 inches (50.8 mm), with tolerances of ±0.0045 inches and ±0.005 inches respectively.

Length: Standard length is 12 feet (about 3.66 meters), but can be customized up to 6000 mm on demand.

Other shapes: hexagonal bars, rectangular bars, strips, etc.

International standards

Main standards:

ASTM B21/B21M-20: Covers the production requirements of naval brass bars, strips and shapes, and explicitly includes C4640.

ASME standards: such as SB171 (plates for condensers), B124 (forgings), etc.

SAE standards: J461, J463 (bars and shapes).

Other certifications: SGS certification (quality and safety assurance).

Tolerances and testing: Must comply with ASTM B21 dimensional tolerances (e.g. ±0.0045 inches), mechanical property tests (tensile, hardness, etc.) and chemical composition requirements.

Other trace elements: extremely low or undetectable content of aluminum, manganese, nickel, etc.

Minimum value: 345 MPa (annealed state)

Typical value: 379–450 MPa

Maximum value: 605 MPa (cold worked state)

Yield strength: 125–455 MPa

Annealed state: 125–140 MPa

Cold worked state: 455 MPa

Elongation: 15%–50%

Annealed state: 35%–50%

Cold worked state: 15%–18%

Hardness: 80–200 HB (Brinell hardness)
