1. Production process

Alloy composition and smelting

C51100 is based on copper (remainder) and adds tin (3.5-4.5%), phosphorus (0.03-0.35%) and other elements. The atmosphere must be strictly controlled during smelting to avoid oxidation and ensure uniform composition.


Pressure processing


Cold processing: C51100 exhibits excellent plasticity in the cold state and can withstand high-precision cold rolling, drawing and other processes. It is suitable for the production of plates or wires as thin as 0.05mm.

Hot processing: Although it can be processed in the hot state (such as hot rolling at 750-780℃), due to its high phosphorus content, it is easy to become hot brittle during hot processing, and the temperature must be carefully controlled to avoid cracking.

Heat treatment

The annealing temperature range is 500-650℃, which is used to eliminate stress after cold processing or adjust the hardness of the material. Normalizing (N) and annealing (A) are common delivery states.
