C51900 copper plate is a tin-phosphor bronze alloy. Its production process and product advantages are as follows:


1. Production process

Smelting and casting


The raw materials include electrolytic copper plates, scrap copper, pure tin ingots, etc. After cutting, drying and surface treatment, they are smelted in a slightly oxidizing atmosphere of 1150-1250℃, tin and lead are added, and phosphor copper is used for deoxidation.

The pouring temperature is 1120-1150℃, and after cooling, an ingot is formed, and homogenization annealing (600-800℃ for 6-10 hours) is carried out to eliminate segregation.

Hot working and cold working


The hot rolling temperature range is 750-770℃, followed by cold rolling to improve strength and surface accuracy.

The modern process adopts the process of induction melting-vertical semi-continuous casting-hot rolling-milling-cold rolling-bright annealing-finishing to ensure dense organization and excellent processing performance.

Annealing treatment


The intermediate annealing temperature is 600-650℃, which is used to restore the plasticity of the material.

Final annealing is combined with bright annealing process to improve surface quality and corrosion resistance.

2. Product advantages

Excellent mechanical properties


Tensile strength ≥470 MPa, elongation ≥13%, with both high strength and good plasticity.

High elastic limit and fatigue strength, suitable for manufacturing elastic components such as springs and diaphragms.

Wear and corrosion resistance


Phosphorus improves wear resistance and is suitable for wear-resistant parts such as gears and brush boxes.

Resistant to seawater and industrial atmospheric corrosion, and corrosion resistance is verified by NACL solution boiling test.

Conductivity and processing performance


The conductivity reaches 15.5% IACS (68℉), suitable for conductive springs and connectors.

Good cold/hot pressure processing performance, can be stamped, bent and other complex forming.

Welding and anti-magnetism


Supports soldering, copper welding, arc welding, but poor adaptability to submerged arc welding and electroslag welding.

With outstanding antimagnetic properties, it is used for antimagnetic parts in precision instruments such as vibrating plates.

Widely used in aviation industry: key components such as combined airspeed indicators and diaphragms.

Electrical industry: connectors, contact springs, relays, etc.

Mechanical manufacturing: wear-resistant bearings, metal hoses, and high-airtightness castings.
