Yield strength: 560-1050 MPa (up to 951 MPa after aging).

Hardness:

Untreated state: ≤50 HB (Brinell hardness);

After aging: 38-44 HRC (Rockwell hardness) or 92-100 HRB.

Electrical and thermal conductivity:

Electrical conductivity: 45%-65% IACS (International Annealed Copper Standard), significantly higher than ordinary copper.

Thermal conductivity: 105-208 W/(m·℃), suitable for heat dissipation scenarios.

Elongation and toughness:

Elongation: 10%-25% (may drop to 1% after cold working).

Elastic modulus: 128-138 GPa, showing high elasticity.

3. Other key features

Corrosion resistance: Excellent in fresh water, sea water and dilute acid, but prone to corrosion in humid ammonia and nitric acid environments.

Processing performance:

Good hot processing performance, can be hot extruded and hot rolled; excellent cold processing performance, suitable for stamping, bending, etc.

Alloy composition and strengthening mechanism

C17500 is a beryllium cobalt copper alloy, the main components of which are copper (remainder), beryllium (0.4%-0.7%), cobalt (2.4%-2.7%), and trace amounts of iron, silicon, and aluminum. Its strengthening mechanism is aging precipitation strengthening, and the strength, hardness, and conductivity are improved through solution treatment and aging hardening treatment (quenching + aging).


Processing technology


Hot processing: It can be hot extruded, hot rolled, and forged, with excellent forming performance.

Cold processing: It has excellent cold processing performance such as cold rolling, stamping, and bending, and is suitable for high-precision parts manufacturing.

Welding performance: It supports a variety of welding methods, including soldering, laser welding, electron beam welding, etc., especially suitable for vacuum or high-voltage components.

Heat treatment: Solution treatment (softening temperature of about 1050℃) and aging treatment (softening temperature of 1000-1070℃) are key steps, which can significantly improve the tensile strength (up to 980MPa) and hardness (HRC 36-42).
