1. Production process

Raw material processing and smelting

C21000 brass is mainly composed of copper (94.0-96.0%) and zinc (balance). High-quality low-lead brass is used as raw material in production, which is melted in a smelting furnace and injected into a holding furnace and maintained at a preset temperature. Electromagnetic stirring technology is introduced in some processes to refine grains, reduce pores and cracks, and improve the uniformity of copper tube wall thickness.


Forming and processing


Continuous casting and rolling: horizontal continuous casting combined with planetary rolling technology is adopted. For example, Jiangxi Copper has introduced equipment from Japan's Mitsui and Germany's Junkers to achieve efficient production

After horizontal continuous casting, it is treated with water cooling (to 50°C), and then processed by milling, planetary rolling and other processes.


Stretching and annealing: High-speed tandem drawing machines and multi-wire stretching machines with independent technology are used, combined with the floating core head stretching process to ensure the smoothness and dimensional accuracy of the internal and external surfaces. The online annealing process (540-600℃) further optimizes the material properties.

Hot and cold processing: C21000 can be processed into pipes, plates, etc. through cold rolling and hot rolling (775-850℃) to meet different specifications.

Surface treatment and testing

A high-precision straightening machine is used to ensure straightness, and the surface is cleaned and then rewound for flaw detection. Combined with Swiss imported direct reading spectrometer and other equipment for precision testing, product stability and consistency are ensured.
