C17500 copper plate follows the following standards:
Chinese standards:
GB/T 13808-1992: Standardizes the chemical composition, mechanical properties and dimensional tolerances of beryllium bronze plates.
YS/T 334—2009: Clarifies the brand (such as QBe0.6-2.5 corresponds to C17500), state (such as hard state Y, soft state M) and processing requirements of beryllium bronze bars.
GB/T 17793: Covers the dimensional tolerance of copper alloy plates.
International standards:
JIS H3250-2006 (Japanese Industrial Standard): specifies the chemical composition and performance indicators of beryllium copper alloy.

Copper (Cu): Balance (usually about 93.5%-99.5%).
Beryllium (Be): 0.4%-0.7%
Cobalt (Co): 2.4%-2.7% (key strengthening element).
Nickel (Ni): Some sources mention trace amounts (such as 0.1%-0.15%)
Impurity limits:
Iron (Fe) ≤0.10%, Silicon (Si) ≤0.20%, Aluminum (Al) ≤0.20%, Lead (Pb) ≤0.005%.
Mechanical properties
Strength and hardness:
Tensile strength: 700-1200 MPa, up to 940-1035 MPa after aging treatment.
Yield strength: 560-1050 MPa (up to 951 MPa after aging).
Hardness:
Untreated state: ≤50 HB (Brinell hardness);
After aging: 38-44 HRC (Rockwell hardness) or 92-100 HRB.
Electrical and thermal conductivity:
Electrical conductivity: 45%-65% IACS (International Annealed Copper Standard), significantly higher than ordinary copper.
Thermal conductivity: 105-208 W/(m·℃), suitable for heat dissipation scenarios.
Elongation and toughness:
Elongation: 10%-25% (may drop to 1% after cold working).
Elastic modulus: 128-138 GPa, showing high elasticity.
3. Other key features
Corrosion resistance: Excellent in fresh water, sea water and dilute acid, but prone to corrosion in humid ammonia and nitric acid environments.
Processing performance:
Good hot processing performance, can be hot extruded and hot rolled; excellent cold processing performance, suitable for stamping, bending, etc.
Machinability is 20% of ordinary materials, which can be improved after aging.
Special properties: non-magnetic, anti-adhesion, no sparks on impact, suitable for explosion-proof scenes.
C17500 copper plate is a beryllium-cobalt-copper alloy. Its production process and product advantages are as follows:
Production process
Smelting and casting
After the raw materials (copper, beryllium, cobalt, etc.) are melted in a specific proportion, the billet is formed by semi-continuous casting or vacuum casting process to ensure the uniformity of composition.
Hot working
Hot rolling, forging or extrusion at high temperature. For example, the forging temperature range of C17500 is 650-815℃, and the internal structure of the material is improved by thermal deformation.
Cold working
Cold rolling or cold drawing process can further improve the strength and hardness while maintaining good formability, which is suitable for the manufacture of complex parts.
Solution treatment
After heating the material to a high temperature (about 900-980℃), it is quickly cooled (water quenching) to fully dissolve the alloy elements and prepare for subsequent aging hardening.
Aging treatment
Long-term heat preservation at a relatively low temperature (about 450-500℃) precipitates beryllium precipitation phase, significantly improving strength (up to 940 MPa) and conductivity (45-60% IACS).
Surface treatment
Degreasing, painting or polishing may be performed according to application requirements to meet corrosion resistance or appearance requirements.
Product advantages
High strength and hardness
After aging treatment, the tensile strength can reach 980 MPa and the hardness (HRC) is 18-28, which is more than 40% higher than ordinary copper, suitable for high-load molds and precision mechanical parts.
Excellent electrical and thermal conductivity
The electrical conductivity is 45-65% of pure copper, and the thermal conductivity is 235 W/m·K, which is suitable for electrical appliances, welding electrodes and heat dissipation components.
High temperature resistance and relaxation resistance
It still maintains high lasting strength and creep resistance in high temperature environments (such as 165℃), suitable for aircraft engines and high-temperature industrial scenarios.
Corrosion and wear resistance
It has better oxidation resistance than copper, is resistant to seawater and industrial corrosion, and the surface oxide film has self-lubricating properties, which prolongs the service life.
Excellent processing performance
It has good hot and cold processing performance and can form parts with complex shapes; after polishing, it can achieve a mirror effect, meeting the needs of precision molds.
Special environmental adaptability
It is non-magnetic and has no sparks when impacted. It is suitable for flammable and explosive environments (such as oil and mines) and magnetically sensitive equipment (such as aerospace instruments).
Environmental protection and sustainability
No harmful substances are released during the production process, and the materials can be completely recycled and reused.
