C17500 copper strip and copper coil production process and product advantages:
Production process
Basic processing flow
The production of C17500 copper strip/coil mainly adopts the continuous extrusion process of copper alloy. The raw material Φ20 copper rod is heated and deformed by continuous extrusion method, and then cooled by circulating water to form billet. Some production processes also involve induction melting, vertical semi-continuous casting, hot rolling, cold rolling, bright annealing and other steps to ensure the high precision and uniform structure of the product. Specific processes also include quenching and tempering treatment (aging hardening), which significantly improves the strength, hardness and other properties of the material through solid solution and aging treatment.
Key process features
Cold/hot processing performance: C17500 has excellent cold processing performance and good hot processing performance. It can be processed into complex shapes by various forming methods such as rolling and stamping.
Heat treatment: After quenching, the material undergoes aging treatment (such as tempering) to precipitate strengthening phases, achieving high strength (tensile strength 794-1105 MPa), high hardness (Brinell hardness 220 HB or HRC 38-44) and other characteristics.
Surface treatment: Some processes include bright annealing to ensure excellent surface quality, suitable for precision electronic components.
Product advantages
Mechanical properties
High strength and high elasticity: tensile strength can reach 794-1105 MPa, yield strength 620-1035 MPa, suitable for springs, elastic elements, etc.
Wear resistance and fatigue resistance: suitable for high wear scenarios such as molds, bearings, valves, etc.
Physical and chemical properties
Electrical conductivity/thermal conductivity: electrical conductivity 45% IACS, thermal conductivity 208-315 W/m·K, better than ordinary copper alloys, suitable for electrodes and welding equipment.
Corrosion resistance: Excellent corrosion resistance in the atmosphere, fresh water, and seawater, but strong corrosive media such as moist ammonia and nitric acid must be avoided.
High and low temperature resistance: It can maintain stable performance at extreme temperatures, is non-magnetic and has no sparks when impacted, and is suitable for explosion-proof tools and aerospace.
Processing and application advantages
Easy welding and brazing: It supports a variety of methods such as soldering, resistance welding, and laser welding to meet the needs of complex components.
Wide applicability: It is used in fuses, electrical connectors, molds, automotive parts, medical devices and other fields.
