C51000, also known as phosphor bronze (5% Sn), is a copper-tin-phosphorus alloy renowned for its high strength, corrosion resistance, and fatigue resistance. It contains 93.6–95.6% Cu, 4.2–5.8% Sn, and 0.03–0.35% P, with trace amounts of Fe, Zn, and Pb . This alloy is widely used in demanding applications such as springs, switch components, fasteners, bearings (e.g., aircraft bushings), and chemical hardware due to its excellent cold workability and durability under cyclic stresses .
