C10200 copper coil is an oxygen-free copper (Oxygen-Free Copper, OFC), whose main characteristics are that it does not contain oxygen and deoxidizer residues, has high purity, excellent electrical and thermal conductivity, and good processing and welding properties. 1. Size range

The size of C10200 copper coil varies depending on the product form (sheet, strip, coil, tube, etc.), mainly covering the following range:


Thickness


Copper coil: 0.1mm–3mm (customizable).


Copper plate/strip: 0.1mm–200mm (flat bar), sheet thickness can reach 100mm

, copper foil can be as thin as 0.02mm.


Copper tube: wall thickness 0.2mm–120mm.


Width


Copper coil/strip: 3mm–1220mm (customizable), some sheet widths can reach 2500mm.


Length/outer diameter

Main ingredients:


Copper (Cu) content: ≥99.95% (oxygen-free copper No. 2) to ≥99.97% (oxygen-free copper No. 1), total impurity content ≤0.03%-0.05%.

Oxygen (O) content: generally ≤0.003% (30 ppm), ≤0.001% (such as vacuum application scenarios).

Impurity restrictions:


Lead (Pb) ≤0.004%, iron (Fe) ≤0.004%, sulfur (S) ≤0.004%, zinc (Zn) ≤0.003%, others such as bismuth (Bi), antimony (Sb), arsenic (As), nickel (Ni), etc. are all subject to restrictions.


Mechanical properties vary significantly depending on the material state (annealed, hard, etc.):


Tensile strength:


Soft state (annealed): 215-275 MPa (≈31.8-40 ksi).


Hard state (cold worked): 261-441 MPa (≈38-64 ksi), up to 462 MPa (67 ksi).


Yield strength:


Soft state: 49-78 MPa (≈7-11 ksi).


Hard state: 290-400 MPa (≈42-58 ksi).


3. Elongation:


Soft state: 35-55% (excellent plasticity after annealing).


Hard state: 10-15% (plasticity decreases after cold working).


4. Hardness:


Brinell hardness (HB): 35-45 HB in soft state, 85-95 HB in hard state.

Rockwell hardness: HRB 40 (soft), HRB 57-100 (hard).

Density: 8.90-8.94 g/cm³.

Modulus of elasticity: 115-120 GPa.

Shear strength: 150-240 MPa.

1. Production process

Smelting process

C10200 belongs to oxygen-free high-conductivity copper (OFHC), which is smelted under carbon or carbonaceous gas protection to avoid oxygen absorption and does not require a deoxidizer. Its copper purity is ≥99.95%, oxygen content is ≤0.001%, and total impurities are ≤0.05%. This process ensures the high purity of the material and reduces the risk of hydrogen embrittlement.


Processing and forming


Cold/hot processing: It can be formed through a variety of processes such as cold rolling, hot rolling, forging, extrusion, etc., with excellent ductility and plasticity, suitable for deep drawing, tight bending, spinning and other complex shape processing.

Temperature control: The hot processing temperature range is 750-875℃, and the annealing temperature is 375-650℃ to optimize material properties (such as softening temperature 480℃).

Welding and protection

Although the weldability is slightly inferior to deoxidized copper, it supports TIG welding, MIG welding and resistance welding. The welded joints are strong and airtight, and are suitable for vacuum sealing scenarios. Anti-oxidation protection should be paid attention to during processing.

Electrical conductivity/thermal conductivity: electrical conductivity ≥100% IACS (International Annealed Copper Standard), thermal conductivity 391W/(m·℃), suitable for high-power current transmission and heat dissipation needs.

Mechanical properties: tensile strength 220-410MPa, yield strength 77-400MPa, high elasticity and fatigue limit, annealed hardness HBS35-45, cold-processed hardness HBS85-95.

Processing advantages


No risk of hydrogen embrittlement, suitable for high temperature environment (such as vacuum device brazing).

Balanced hot and cold processing performance, can produce coils with a thickness of 0.2-40mm and an outer diameter of 20-450mm, to meet the needs of precision striping.

Corrosion resistance and stability

Resistant to atmospheric and reducing gas corrosion, excellent low temperature performance, and not easily oxidized after long-term use.


Wide application

Used in electrical (busbars, cables, transformers), electronics (waveguides, electron tubes), communications (coaxial cables), vacuum equipment (magnetrons, vacuum switches) and other fields.
