The size range of C11000 copper coils varies according to different product forms and application scenarios

Thickness range:

Copper foil coils: 0.01 mm to 0.15 mm (suitable for high-precision electronic components such as transformers, PCBs, etc.).

Copper strip/roll: 0.025 mm to 3.0 mm (covering ultra-thin foils to thicker strips, some products such as copper bars can reach a thickness of 3.0 mm).

Special demand customization: Some suppliers can provide thicker copper coils, such as copper tubes with a wall thickness of up to 120 mm (but such products may be tubes rather than typical coils).

Width range:

Standard copper foil coils: 4 mm to 600 mm (some specifications are limited to within 250 mm).

Extended specifications: 0.1 mm to 1000 mm (suitable for wide industrial uses, such as architectural decoration or large equipment).

Precision strip products: The minimum width can be customized to 2 mm (for precision electronic instruments or special stamping needs).

C11000 is a high-purity electrolytic copper (ETP copper), the main components and impurity upper limits are as follows:

Our C11000 copper coil production process involves several key steps, combining traditional processing with advanced technology. The specific process is as follows:

1. Raw material preparation and smelting

Electrolytic copper smelting: High-purity electrolytic copper is used as raw material, and impurities are removed by high-temperature smelting to ensure that the copper content reaches more than 99.9%. Some processes use up-casting continuous casting to directly prepare copper billets.

Alloying treatment: If the performance needs to be adjusted, trace elements can be added during the smelting stage (such as oxygen content control), but C11000 is usually based on pure copper.

2. Casting and primary processing

Continuous casting: Molten copper is formed into copper rods or slabs through a horizontal continuous casting machine. The copper-zinc ingot is heated to 850℃ and hot-rolled into a 14mm thick copper strip billet and rolled into a coil.

Hot rolling process: The ingot is heated to 750–950°C in a step-beam heating furnace and then hot rolled to break the coarse grains and improve processing performance. The thickness of the copper strip can be reduced to about 14mm after hot rolling.

3. Cold rolling and forming

Cold rolling process: The hot-rolled copper strip is further thinned to the target thickness (such as 0.15–6mm) by cold rolling, while improving the surface finish and mechanical strength. Lubrication and cooling systems are required to control the temperature during cold rolling.

Continuous cold drawing forming: Some processes use cold drawing forming machines to produce fine-grained, high-precision copper coils or strips through die stretching, straightening and coiling, saving energy by 30–40%.

4. Heat treatment and performance regulation

Solution treatment: After heating to the solution temperature, it is quickly cooled (such as water cooling) to dissolve the solute atoms to improve strength and hardness.

Aging treatment: After solution treatment, the heat is kept to promote the formation of precipitation phases and further improve conductivity and mechanical properties. For example, heat treatment at 500°C for 30 minutes can significantly improve material strength.

5. Surface treatment and finishing

Surface cleaning: Remove the oxide layer and impurities through ultrasonic cleaning or pickling to ensure surface quality

Plastic spraying and anti-oxidation: Some processes use plastic spraying and curing treatment to enhance corrosion resistance.

6. Reeling and inspection

Automatic reeling: Use a reel to wind the finished copper strip into standard specifications (inner diameter/outer diameter can be customized) and carry out moisture-proof packaging.

Quality inspection: Including leak detection, tensile strength test (such as tensile strength of 145–394 MPa) and grain structure analysis (such as equiaxed grain size 8.94±0.04 μm).

Special process supplement

Additive manufacturing technology: Electron beam wire feeding additive technology can be used to produce large C11000 copper blocks, but attention should be paid to the anisotropy of mechanical properties caused by directional grain growth.

Environmental optimization: Continuous extrusion and cold drawing processes can reduce energy consumption by 30–40% and reduce copper material loss.
